Known as ‘The City of Three Waters’, what better way to spend your time in Bunbury than in the ocean! There are so many water adventures to be had in this beautiful Western Australian town, whether you prefer to watch the world float by or get amongst the foam! Here’s just a few of our favourite ways to spend a holiday by the sea in Bunbury.
 
Swim with Dolphins
 
If you’ve always dreamed of swimming with dolphins, Koombana Beach is the place to do it. The approx. 120 resident dolphins are wild and you’ll be swimming with them in their natural environment! If you prefer to stay dry but still want to get up close and personal, you can take a Dolphin Eco Cruise around Koombana Bay.
 
Meander through the mangroves
 
Bunbury’s Mangrove Walk is the perfect place to take a stroll. The mangroves in this area are the southernmost white mangroves in Western Australia and are considered a conservation priority because of this. The walk is just over 5kms - see if you can spot all 30 of the local species of bird life.
 
Catch some waves
 
Western Australia is home to some of the best surfing beaches in Australia. If you’re looking to catch a wave or two, grab your board and head to Back Beach!
 
Crab the Leschenault Peninsula

The Leschenault Peninsula Conservation Park is a well known spot for snorkelling, fishing and boating. Work up an appetite windsurfing and then catch some Blue Manna crab for dinner. Be sure to watch the sunset over the water, an experience that will be hard to forget.

Paddle in the Jetty Baths
 
This quiet beach near the city centre is perfect for the kids – there’s even a slide to take them all the way down to the beach! The water is calm, making it a great spot for snorkelling and there is also a playground and BBQ areas if you want to BYO lunch.
 
Dive to the Wreck of the Lena
 
Wrecked in 2003 after it was caught illegally fishing Patagonian Toothfish, the Lena is home to plenty of colourful marine life. You can even dive inside the wreck and take photos by the propeller which was left intact and is now home to plenty of fish.
 
Go nude!
