Swan Valley is known throughout Australia as a destination for foodies which means it’s pretty high on our list of must-visit locations! If you’ve always dreamt of eating your way around Western Australia, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite Swan Valley foodie activities for you!
Become a wine expert
If you’ve always wanted to know your rosés from your Rieslings, or already consider yourself a bit of an expert, top up your skills with a wine apprenticeship at Sandalford Winery. Create your own wine blend during this three hour experience and then drink your newly blended drop over lunch at the award winning on-site restaurant.

Get your sugar fix
They had us at free chocolate samples, but that’s not all the Whistler’s Chocolate Company is known for. You can grab a bite to eat in the café, enjoy chocolate perfection in the showroom, or relax in the Cocoa Lounge. If you need to work off some of that sugar head for the garden area where you can let the kids loose in the sandpits and nature playground.

Wander the trails
No need for hiking boots on these trails – the Cider and Ale Trail and the Sweet Temptations Trail are the perfect way to sample the best of Swan Valley. Sample wine, beer and cider, and fill up on macarons, nougat and honey straight from the hive on these two trails – a foodie’s delight!
See what all the buzz is about
See what we did there? Visit the House of Honey to get up close and personal with the bees creating the honey that’s gracing your morning slice of toast. Visit the Sticky Spoon café to see the observation hive and breathe in the scent of the lavender, wisteria and David Austin roses. Make sure you sample the honey cake!

Spot (and sample) the roadside stalls
Keep your eyes peeled for roadside stalls overflowing with local produce that’s seasonally and locally grown. You’ll be able to pick up asparagus, berries, citrus and more, depending on the time of year.
Take a wine tour
In the Swan Valley you can choose your wine adventure. Tour the vineyards on a river cruise experience, visit the vines by twilight or just chat with the winemakers and enjoy a gourmet lunch. There are plenty of tour operators, but we love Out and About Tours.
Visit a 19th century pub
The Guildford Hotel is a restored heritage beauty where you can feast in the courtyard under a retractable roof, enjoy an espresso martini on tap or grab a snack from the share menu. It’s a great place to sample the best that the Swan Valley has to offer!
